Jánska Valley – one of the most beautiful Liptov valleys – has its starting point on the route from Liptovský Mikuláš to Liptovský Hrádok, on the left bank of the river Váh. Liptovský Ján lies under the Low Tatras at an altitude 654 meters. It is the gateway into Jánska Valley. The first written account of this village comes from 1327. It is a well known recreational and tourist destination suitable for winter and summer recreational activities. Mineral springs in the summer and snowy slopes in the winter attract tourists from all over the world. It is one of the most beautiful corners of the Liptov region, abundant in natural treasures, caves, mineral springs and thermal water, which cures skin diseases, as well as cardiovascular diseases.
